San Silvestre de Rascafría

The San Silvestre de Rascafría is how this Lozoya valley village sees out the year. The Ayuntamiento de la Villa de Rascafría-Oteruelo organises it as part of its Christmas programme, and it takes place on the morning of 31 December, starting from Plaza de la Villa.

The 2025 edition offered two adult courses: a 10 km "moderate intensity" route at 10:00 and a 9.5 km "low intensity" route at 10:30, plus the 5.5 km Chiquivestre for children aged 6 to 12. A zumba session and the prize-giving followed at 13:00, then an aperitif with music in the same square.

The town hall has not published the course or its elevation gain. The start sits at about 1,160 m. In 2022 the adult race was 8.5 km and was billed as a community race against gender violence and for equality.

10 km (moderate intensity, 10:00) and 9.5 km (low intensity, 10:30) courses, plus the 5.5 km Chiquivestre at 11:30. Zumba and prize-giving at 13:00.
