About the race
Zancadas Solidarias is Hoyo de Manzanares' Christmas race, organised since 2013 by the local runners' club ADC Hoyo with the town council. After costs, all entry money goes to a children's cause: in 2025 it raised more than €9,000 for a school in Uganda, and in 2026 the beneficiary is the Asociación GNB1 España.
The course of roughly 11 km starts and finishes in the Plaza Mayor, combining streets and parks in town with paths on the lower slopes of the Sierra de Hoyo. The organisers' profile shows just over 200 m of climbing, with the high point above 1,100 m around halfway. There is a drinks station between km 5 and 6 and another at the finish.
With a cap of 450 runners and a minimum age of 14, it is a popular race with a strong local feel, including prizes for the best runners from the village. A free, non-competitive kids' race follows, and anyone who isn't running can still donate through the 'dorsal cero'.

The organisers recommend the free public car parks marked on their map near the Plaza Mayor. Changing rooms and showers are available at the Polideportivo Municipal (Calle Las Eras), about 200 m from the finish.
Getting there
Interurban buses 611 and 611A from the Moncloa interchange in Madrid. Hoyo de Manzanares has no Cercanías station; the nearest are Torrelodones and Las Matas (lines C-8 and C-10).
After costs, 100% of the money raised goes to the Asociación GNB1 España, which supports families living with GNB1 encephalopathy and promotes research into it.
