Carrera Popular Solidaria Cerro de la Marmota

The Cerro de la Marmota Run and Walk is a late-November charity event in Colmenar Viejo, organised by the Asociación Pablo Ugarte together with the town's sports department. Every euro raised goes to childhood cancer research, and the day has a strong family feel, with hiking walks, a zumba class and a communal meal for all participants afterwards.

The start and finish are on Calle La Magdalena, next to the sports centre of the same name. According to the rules, it is a natural course that runs almost entirely on paths skirting the Cuenca Alta del Manzanares regional park. New 10 and 20 km routes were introduced in 2025, mixing town streets and countryside.

The 10K starts at 11:00, an hour after the 20K, and is open to runners aged 16 and over. In 2025, 250 runners finished it. It is a good choice if you want to try off-road running while supporting a good cause.

As of 18 October 2026 the YouEvent registration page lists the race as 'Suspendido' (suspended), although the official rules for the 15th edition still give 29 November as the date. Check with the organisers before making plans.
