About the race
The Colmenar Viejo San Silvestre sees out the year on the morning of 31 December. First held in 2015, it reached its tenth edition in 2025 and is organised by the events company Eventos Deportivos y Marketing (EDyM) and C.D.E. Bike & Run, with support from the town hall and local athletics and cycling clubs.
The 10K starts at 10:00 on Avenida de los Remedios, next to the Polideportivo Martín Colmenarejo, and loops around town past the Parque de la Alameda, Parque de la Estrella, the Basílica de la Asunción and the Rotonda del Helicóptero. After skirting the western edge of town, including a stretch of dirt track, it finishes on the sports centre's athletics track.
It is a community race open to anyone aged 12 and over, with a 90-minute cut-off, drinks on the course and at the finish, and a commemorative T-shirt for everyone. The same morning there is a 6 km race, a non-competitive 6 km walk and children's races on the track, making it a day out for the whole family.
